If you are interested in working for the international organizations, this internship programme will provide you with a good opportunity to learn about the roles of them and how international meeting is organized. The OIE is the intergovernmental organization responsible for improving animal health and animal welfare worldwide. Currently, there are 182 Member Countries.
Avian influenza is a highly contagious viral disease affecting several species of food producing birds (chickens, turkeys, qualis, quinea fowl, etc.), as well as pet birds and wild birds. The outbreaks of avian influenza impact animal and public health, trade and economy in affected countries. As new influenza viruses transmissible to humans evolve from time to time, viruses circulating in both domestic and wild animals pose continuous threats not only to animal health but also to human health.  In Asia and the Pacific region, the annual workshops have been organized to review progress in prevention and control of animal disease and to define the way forward to further strengthen multi-sectoral and international coordination and collaboration.
Therefore, the OIE RRAP is preparing to hold the Regional Expert Group Meeting for the Control of Avian Influenza in Asia on 2-4 October 2019 in Sapporo. You can participate in the meeting as a observer and work as supporting staff for the meeting logistics.
